The Bennett Legacy: 50 Years of Seattle Jewelry Craftsmanship

Our story began in February 1976, when Fred Bennett Sr. opened Fred Bennett Creations at Westlake Mall in downtown Seattle. Fifty years later, our family continues that tradition through Seattle Gold Grills in Renton, Washington. Fred Bennett Jr. carries the second generation forward alongside his son, Fred Bennett III (JoJo), the third generation.
From Westlake Mall to EBONY Magazine
In September 1981, EBONY Magazine documented Fred Bennett Sr. as the owner of Fred Bennett Creations, a downtown Seattle jewelry store. The original magazine feature is a piece of our family's documented history, showing the business five years after it began.
For us, this archive represents more than a mention in a magazine. It preserves a chapter of Black entrepreneurship in Seattle and the craftsmanship and customer relationships on which our family built its name.
Three Generations, One Commitment to Craft
Fred Bennett Jr. grew up around the jewelry business and built on his father's foundation, launching Seattle Gold Grills in 2016 to serve customers seeking custom grillz and expressive fine jewelry. Today, JoJo works alongside him as the third generation. The family continues to create custom grillz, chains, pendants, engagement rings, and other personalized jewelry.
We are proud of the craftsmanship behind each piece and the trust customers place in us. We also believe each generation has a responsibility to improve the customer experience without losing the values that started the business.

Today customers can participate in creating their jewelry through three interactive design experiences:

Digital design is a new chapter, but experienced jewelry craftsmanship remains at the heart of the finished product.
